Life in Bali is cheap. I'm sure you've heard that before. And I'm definitely not here to tell you otherwise. Of course it depends on where exactly you stay and eat and shop, some places are more expensive than others. But overall, everything is less expensive than in the West, so Europe and America. Now I'm sure you're wondering what exactly things will cost you. Good news! I've got a whole list of what exactly everything costs in Bali, because I've kept all of the receipts I was given. Included in this article: groceries, entertainment, random, transport and restaurants.
After staying in Amed, on the east side of Bali, for 3 nights, we travelled to Lovina. A place on the North side of the island. Took quite some hours to get here, but it was worth it. Here, we also stayed for 3 nights. Which I feel was more than enough for the bungalow we were in. Why? Read it here!
The first thing we did after checking in, was getting some food or course! When we got back home after dinner, we suddenly heard this loud noise from a frog. Or so we thought. Upon further exploration, turned out it was a gecko! Other things that happened in Lovina: beach and a tour day with temples and monkeys.
Day 1 13.12 local time. We have just arrived at our Airbnb after a 12 hour and a 2,5 hour flight from Amsterdam to Bali. What place to visit in The Netherlands? Giethoorn of course! It's a small village that has the nickname 'little Venice of The Netherlands'. Have you seen that video of Winnie the Pooh sitting at a table happily dancing from left to right with a knife and fork in her hands? No? Go watch it. That's me every time I get food. Im sure you love food too. Maybe not as much as I do, but I mean, you need it to survive so.... you have to at least love it a bit 🙂 Since food is a huge part of our lives, it is usually an even huger - I know, that's not really a word - part of our holidays. And holidays, well, I love those too! So I'm now going to be combining the both of them here on my blog! There is going to be a new category on my blog called 'Foodie Friday', where I review restaurants/café's/breakfast places/foodtrucks etc. - So basically anyywhere you can get food - I'll review restaurants that are located in or near popular holiday destinations, to make it easy for you to find the best place to eat when visiting that city! Check out the 'score form' explanation in this post in order to see what I will be judging the restaurants on.
